Well, friends, it’s been an absurdly long time since I last posted. Sorry about that. It’s been an even longer time since our last mini home tour.
Between a new full-time position, these two crazy toddlers, and life’s general insanity, certain things have taken a taken a backseat. Blogging has been one of them, but home decor has not.
Our DIY West Elm inspired industrial coffee table is one of my all-time favorite projects we’ve done—and my most popular blog post to date! Our living room has been featured on Wayfair and our coffee table has been featured on Knock Off Decor, Living Room Ideas, pinned on the DIY Bloggers to Follow board by Ana White, and shared on dozens of other sites.
When we bought our house back in 2011 we honestly didn’t think we’d be here longer than the max of four years the army normally allows for. We were surprised and excited to stay here longer than four, let alone the almost seven we’ve now been in our home. So we decided to take the plunge and make some changes we had wanted to make for years—new flooring in the kitchen and entry way, granite countertops, new backsplash, and a little (big) living room revamp that’s not over yet. We’ve really worked hard to make this track-style home feel more suited to our tastes.

Don’t mind this corner of the room—it’s still unfinished.
Love my DIY mid century modern desk? You can make one too!

Ignore the completely sideways star—LOL. We can thank the dogs and the kids for that one.
And we’re not done with updates quite yet! Keep an eye out for more projects or another mini home tour — I typically post them on Instagram as they happen!
Where did you get the buffet table?
Hi Lauren! It’s from West Elm. Let me know if you have any other questions!
